Wesley Prison Ministry, together with Prison Fellowship Singapore, was grateful to have been able to bless families of inmates, released persons and their families during “Come, Experience the love of Christ” at the Wesley Plaza Hall on 10 December 2022. This was the culmination of a year of ministering to the incarcerated at Changi Prison and the Halfway House, and their families and children.
Clients and volunteers spent a fruitful and enjoyable time admiring the floral and lantern displays on two visits to the Flower Dome.
The annual Christmas Carnival returns to bring festive cheer to the community at Jalan Berseh! Jointly organised by the Christian Outreach and Social Concerns (COSC) ministry and the Residents’ Committee (RC) at Jalan Berseh, the Carnival delighted and engaged residents with food, games and performances.
Wesley Methodist Church continues to support the Girls’ Brigade in its mission to build character, resilience and skills in its members.
Years of service and labour to build bonds with the Jalan Berseh community helped to bring the presence of Christ to the residents there.
COSC volunteers were glad to finally be able to meet up with their migrant friends after two-and-a-half years.
Member-of-Parliament Denise Phua and Pastor-in-Charge Raymond Fong from Wesley Methodist Church joined volunteers from Wesley to distribute care packages to residents from Jalan Berseh in the Rochor vicinity.
In the midst of the pandemic in 2021, some 55 members in CIC had rallied together to respond to the community’s needs. They sent 135 packages to the 135-member cleaning team at the NCID during Easter, in the year of Wesley’s 135 anniversary.
Pandemic has hit migrant workers who cannot go home especially hard. 600 migrant workers had some Christmas cheer when volunteers from Wesley Methodist Church delivered some gifts and rendered friendship.
