The church was filled with young voices singing worship songs, excited chatter and even splashing water games as 160 children from Kindergarten 1 to Primary 4 gathered for this year’s Children’s Church Camp themed “Jesus, I’m In!”.
From 11-13 December, the children were invited to discover what it means to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. Rev Adrian Ng gave an engaging retelling of Bible stories of people who chose to be “all in” for God even when circumstances were difficult.

The children first learned from the story of young Samuel, discovering that God loves those who listen and respond to Him. Just as Samuel answered God’s call, the children were encouraged to declare, “Speak, Lord—I’m all in, listening to You always.”
The second story of David and Goliath taught the children about faith when facing giant problems. When problems feel big, they learned that God is always greater and that they can say, “I may have a giant problem, but if God is on my side, I will always win!”
From Joseph, who honoured God even when things went wrong, the children learned that God was with Joseph every step of the way. They were reminded that when we love and honour God, He can turn bad situations into something good and they can say, “Jesus, I’m all in to trust and honour You always.”
Through Daniel’s experience in the lions’ den, the children learned to trust God even when they are in deep trouble. They were reassured that even in very difficult situations, God remains faithful and present and they can say, “I may fall into a deep problem, but with God, I will be okay.”
The story of the boy who offered five loaves and two fish encouraged the children to give what they have to God. They learned that when we trust Him with our “little”, God can turn it into a miracle that blesses many.
These teaching sessions touched 9-year-old Noelle Ho. “I like the story-time by Pastor Adrian and I learned to solve problems by asking God to help. Joseph had many problems but God helped him to solve them.”

LEARNING THROUGH FUN

The atmosphere was further lifted through vibrant worship sessions led by the youth from Youth Ministry and BeTween where the children sang with enthusiasm, learned actions and expressed their love for God in their own unique ways.
Youth Facilitator Asher Lim reflected, “Seeing the children sing and doing actions—many kids have different ways of looking or learning about God.”
A meaningful highlight of the camp was the four outreach stations where children learned that being “all in” with Jesus also means loving and serving others. The children made cards for low-income households in Jalan Berseh and learned about second chances through a prison ministry game.

In the third station, they participated in a creative reenactment where youth portrayed senior ladies (Ah Mas). Armed with “credit cards”, the children experienced the challenge of “shopping” for groceries for seniors and reflected on how caring for others is meaningful but can have its challenges. At the Deaf Ministry station, children learned basic sign language for “God Is So Good”, discovering new ways to worship inclusively.
For 10-year-old Chet Fong, the outreach stations were a highlight of the camp. “I really like the Ah Mas. I learned about outreach in a very fun way!”

GOD AT WORK IN THE HEARTS OF OUR CHILDREN
Throughout the camp, facilitators who helped to look after the children witnessed many touching moments that revealed God working in the children’s hearts. Evelyn Sia was very touched when a child spontaneously said during a teaching session, “Jesus loves you and me!” Many children also asked how to spell words like “pray” and “Amen”. It was heart-warming to see them write these words in their worksheet.
Facilitator Esther Tay-Choo reflected that even children who seemed to be the least attentive could answer all the questions over the duration of the camp. “When we lift them to the Lord in prayer, He will work miracles in them,” she shared, adding that even the children with challenging behaviours revealed moments of gentleness and love. In one unforgettable moment, a small child noticed her hands were full and lovingly fed her a biscuit—a beautiful reminder for Esther that “the children were also learning to serve as they were served.”

Others observed how the children learned forgiveness, the importance of prayer and how to say sorry to one another. Ho Tran was reminded that acts of kindness and service may not bear fruit immediately but may blossom later in a child’s life.
The closing worship was especially moving. As the children sang wholeheartedly, performing the actions in unity, Amy Quek described feeling as though she caught “a glimpse of heaven”.
There were also quiet, powerful moments of care and love between the children themselves—older children gently calming a younger one during teaching, serving one another joyfully and willingly. As Christina Lau reflected, “That’s the work of the Holy Spirit—the young and old serving each other with love.”
As the camp came to an end, one truth stood clear in songs sung, prayers whispered and acts of kindness shared: Jesus, we’re all in.
