READ:
Revelation 11:15 (NIV)
The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”
OBSERVE:
Here we see the sounding of the 7th trumpet that marks the announcement of the third woe which is also the final woe. We catch a glimpse of what is to come where God will reign over the whole world and His universe. Hallelujah that the day will come and heaven and all the earth rejoice in His glory, peace and justice to rule the world. When we recognise God’s sovereign working in the world and our lives, it instils hope and worship in our hearts.
APPLY:
The day will come when God’s invisible kingdom will become God’s visible kingdom and it will be forever. As for now, when I pray “Your kingdom come”, I am agreeing to my own kingdoms disappearing, laying aside my own agendas and listening to the Holy Spirit’s prompting for the sake of God’s rule in my life. I need to subject myself to God and His reign.
DO:
It is indeed a wonderful knowledge to know that one day our Lord will reign forever in this world and righteousness will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. (Isaiah 11:9, Habakkuk 2:14)
Sovereign Lord, help me daily to let you reign in me, captivate my heart and know that you are God. Even when times are difficult, and the road ahead seems filled with agonies and fears, let me not lose hope for you reign in me. Teach me to surrender my will to you, always to do your will, always to remember to act justly in my sphere of work, to show mercy and to walk humbly with you, Father Lord.
PRAY:
Psalm 135:1 (TPT)
Shout Hallelujah and praise the greatness of God.
Father Lord, teach me each day to shout Hallelujah and praise your great work, for none can compare with you. Your creation is marvellous! You form misty clouds, create thunder and lightning, bringing the wind and rain out of your heavenly storehouse. Some days when the going gets tough, I just need to look up at the sky and marvel at the beauty of your creation and know that you reign in my heart. Thank you Jesus, Amen.
