Under the radiant July sun on Monday, 15 July 2024, the hearts of our Wesley Glowing Years Ministry (GYM) seniors bloomed with joy during a delightful outing to the National Orchid Garden at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. This quarterly “Wheels D’ Way” adventure, more than just an excursion, is a cherished testament to God’s grace, offering fellowship, rejuvenation, and the simple joys of exploring His creation together.
Our destination, the enchanting Sembcorp Cool House, proved to be a divine sanctuary. Orchids of every hue and variety flourished in the air-conditioned comfort, showcasing the diversity and beauty of God’s design. Laughter filled the air as our seniors, their spouses, and caregivers captured the moment in countless photos, their faces reflecting the sheer delight of shared experiences. The Cool House’s unique environment, a gift from God, allowed us to appreciate nature’s wonders without the burden of heat—a true blessing on one of the hottest days of the year.
After the floral immersion, a leisurely stroll took us to the Sprouts Food Place for a delicious brunch. Thanks to the thoughtful planning of our dedicated volunteers, who exemplified Christ’s servant heart, everyone enjoyed a satisfying meal and heartwarming conversations. These small acts of kindness, reflections of God’s love, truly make our outings special.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the 18 volunteers who gave their time to ensure the success of this outing. Their cheerful assistance, from pushing wheelchairs to capturing precious memories on camera, is a living example of the loving spirit of our church community and a reflection of Christ’s compassion.
As the sun began to set, our hearts overflowed with gratitude for another blessed outing filled with fellowship, joy and a profound appreciation for God’s creation. We look forward to many more such divine adventures together.
