To Fight For My Faith
BRD REFLECTIONS:

READ:
For this devotion, I will focus on Jude.
OBSERVE:
Jude addressed his letter to those who have been called, who are loved by God and kept for Jesus Christ. (v1) Jude warned of the rise of the ungodly people driven by ungodly desires and rebellious behaviour, fooling their natural instincts instead of following the Holy Spirit (v3-17).
Jude urged the believers to build up each other in their faith and to pray earnestly. In Jude’s words, “Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Be merciful to those who doubt, save others by snatching them from the fire, to others show mercy mixed with fear- hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.” (v 20-23)
Jude concluded his letter by declaring who God is, giving God the glory, declaring His majesty, power and authority. (v24, 25)
APPLY:
The book of Jude seems to contain a complete Christian doctrine and hope-filled truth for believers. It reminds me of who I am in light of who God is. In different seasons of life, I will face negative situations including having to deal with unpleasant people that can drain me. I can also easily slack off in prayer and studying His Word. Jude emphasises the importance of showing mercy to those who doubt. He calls me to rescue others from the eternal fire. Finally, I must demonstrate grace while hating sin’s corruption.
DO:
I want to maintain my faith as (v1, 24) I have been called, as one who is loved by God and kept for Jesus Christ. God is the one who is able to keep me from stumbling. The greatness of God will empower me to fight for my faith and remain in it.
PRAY:
Lord, I thank You for Your boundless love and mercy. I praise You for Your grace in my life and the gift of eternal life. Empower and strengthen me through Your Holy Spirit so I may continue to be faithful and steadfast in all my circumstances. Teach me to pray in alignment with Your will, praying with Your power and purpose. Teach me to show mercy with wisdom and discernment. May my actions and words reflect Your holiness as I extend mercy to others. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
