O What A Mystery!
BRD REFLECTION 2025
Ephesians 3 and Psalm 2:7–12 (NIV)
(Alice Ling from Worship & Music Ministry)
READ:
Ephesians 3 (NIV)
OBSERVE:
In verse 6, Paul shares the mystery that has been revealed to him: Jews and Gentiles are joined in one body of Christ, united in one Church and no longer separated before God because of the gospel where all men have an equal standing in Christ.
Since the mystery has been revealed, Paul wants to make this gospel known to all people and to have everyone share in the boundless riches of Christ (verses 8 and 9), despite the challenges he faced (verse 13). Paul also kneels before God the Father with a prayer for the Ephesians (verses 16 to 19), who are primarily Gentiles.
APPLY:
Through faith in Christ, I am the Gentile, the non-Jewish believer, who is now a full partaker of God’s promise. I have the same access and confidence before God with the same privileges that used to be reserved for believing Jewish people. As a follower of Christ, I have a place in the service of God’s eternal plan, to share the good news of God’s salvation though I may face challenges like those Paul faced.
As Paul has prayed, I seek to be strengthened in my inner person through the power of the Holy Spirit. I want Christ to settle down in my heart and to rule in my life. I desire to feel and understand how long, how wide, how deep, and how high God’s love really is, and be rooted and grounded in God’s love, and be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
DO:
- Be thankful – I am the beloved child of God, able to approach His throne by His grace.
- Be ready to share the good news – I have a ready answer to provide the reason for the hope that I have, knowing that I might face challenges
- Work on my inner person – spend time in God’s presence, meditating on His Word, and yielding to His will
PRAY:
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me with an everlasting love and for calling me to be Your very own. I know You have a wonderful plan for my life. Empower me to live for You alone and to be always ready to share the good news of the unshakeable hope I have in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
