Extending Hospitality To God

OBSERVE:
Through Abraham’s hospitality, Sarah’s struggle to believe, and Abraham’s intercession for Sodom, I observe a God who is both perfectly just and abundantly merciful. I am reminded that nothing is impossible for God, even when circumstances seem hopeless. God often works through ordinary acts of faithfulness; He invites His people to trust Him beyond human understanding and participate in His purposes through intercession. Genesis 18 reminds me that God draws near to His people, keeps His promises, and listens to those who seek Him.
APPLY:
This passage challenges me to learn to rest and wait on God rather than rely on my own understanding or timing. I desire to grow in hearing His voice, believing in His power, and holding on to hope when life feels uncertain or difficult.
Sometimes, like Sarah, I find myself struggling to believe when God’s promises seem impossible. But Genesis 18 reminds me that nothing is impossible for the Lord. Even when I cannot see the outcome, I want to trust that He is faithfully guiding my steps, sustaining me through every hardship, and working according to His perfect timing and purpose.
DO:
Today, I choose to wait patiently on God, seek His voice through prayer and His Word, and place my hope in His promises. I pray for His guidance and direction in every area of my life, and for strength to persevere through seasons of suffering and uncertainty. I also lift up my nation, asking God to grant wisdom, justice, mercy, and peace, and that many hearts would turn to Him. May I never lose sight of the truth that nothing is impossible for God. By His grace, may He transform my heart to reflect His character through righteous living, and may I faithfully take part in His work through prayerful intercession and obedient faith.
PRAY:
Heavenly Father, teach me to rest and wait on You. Guide my path, strengthen me in my affliction, increase my faith and my hope. Bless our nation with wisdom, integrity and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
