Find Rest In God Alone

BRD REFLECTIONS

Esther 2:1-18, Psalm 62 (NIV)

(Lau Lee Fang, Companions in Christ Facilitator, Discipleship & Nurture)

READ:

Esther 2:1-18 and Psalm 62 (NIV)

OBSERVE:

Psalm 62:5 – Find rest, O my soul, in God alone, my hope comes from Him.

The psalmist repeated that rest for his soul is found in God alone.

APPLY:

Wanting that rest, I seek to find it quickly but distractions and concerns lurk around my hyper-active mind; the greater the effort I put in to help myself, the more anxious I become. O my soul, I cannot find rest for I have been striving with my own effort instead of leaning on and hoping in God.

Truly He alone can give rest, this I must know and believe and not strive on my own.

DO:

I will come before God, put away my distractions and be with and hope in Him, then surely His rest will my soul find.

PRAY:

Father God, give me grace to delight and be lost in Your presence, to hope in You, so that my soul may truly find rest. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
