READ:
1 Kings 7:1-51 (NIV)
As I read the passages, the following verses caught my attention in 1 King 7.
13 King Solomon sent to Tyre and brought Huram, 14 whose mother was a widow from the tribe of Naphtali and whose father was from Tyre and a skilled craftsman in bronze. Huram was filled with wisdom, with understanding and with knowledge to do all kinds of bronze work. He came to King Solomon and did all the work assigned.
40 So Huram finished all the work he had undertaken for King Solomon in the temple of the Lord:
OBSERVE:
For such a great task as building the Temple of the Lord, King Solomon chose his best bronze craftsman for the job. He picked Huram. What was outstanding about Huram? Was it his birthplace? Was it his family background? Was it his trade? What made him the best man was because he was filled with wisdom, with understanding and knowledge to do all kinds of bronze work, v14 and in v 40, we read that Huram finished all the work he had undertaken for King Solomon in the temple of the Lord. He was indeed very skilful and wise.
APPLY:
I believe that the Lord has prepared a good work for me to do for Him and not just for me but for all believers in Christ.
DO:
- I will acknowledge the empowerment, giftedness and contribution of the people the Lord has brought into the church.
- I will co-operate, support and be thankful for the leaders/staff/volunteers that the Lord has brought to build His church.
PRAY:
Thank you, Lord, for the good work you have prepared for me. Thank you for the gifts you have endowed on me and my co-labourers in the Lord. May I complete the task you have given me for your glory. In Christ’s name, Amen.
