Saying ‘Yes’ with Complete Trust In The Lord
BRD REFLECTION 2026
1 Corinthians 15:12-34 and Psalm 25:1-7 (NIV)
(Vincent Hong from Mandarin Ministry)
READ:
Psalm 25:1–7 spoke most deeply to me as I reflected on my journey of serving Him since my youth.
OBSERVE:
I believe this psalm was written by King David as a reflection on his life journey, marked by its highs and lows, as suggested by his reference to the “sins of my youth” (v7). This psalm speaks to me as a powerful reminder to place my trust in the Lord and to seek His guidance in every circumstance.
APPLY:
Trust is an active choice, directed especially toward God. I remember praying and asking God to mould and shape me into a more mature, godly person. In His divine way of answering that prayer, He entrusted me with greater responsibilities — roles I never imagined I would take on, especially given my introverted nature. If given a choice, I would gladly prefer to serve in a supportive role in any ministry to which God calls me. Accepting this role did not place me on a bed of roses; however, through every challenge I have faced, God has proven time and again that He delivers. From these experiences, I came to realise with deep assurance that placing my trust in God never disappoints.
DO:
Saying “yes” to the Lord can at times make me vulnerable to shame, rejection, opposition, or feelings of being lost. I must always remember that God is my source of hope, and that mercy and love are central to who He is. I will not allow my failures to distance me from God; instead, I will bring my shame and failures to Him, trusting that none of these disqualify me from His guidance.
PRAY:
Heavenly Father, I lift up my soul to You. In You I trust. Whatever the future holds, whatever challenges, decisions, or uncertainties I face in life, I choose to trust in You, that You will show me Your ways, teach me Your paths and guide me in Your truth. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
