Will I Be Sad Or Glad?

READ
OBSERVE:
GOD is kind and compassionate, warning His people of the dreadful day of the LORD, (Joel 2:1-11) so that they may return to Him (Joel 2: 12-17) and be glad instead of being sad.
If they rend their hearts and call on GOD (v12-13, 32), He will take pity on His people, provide for them and comfort them. He will repay their losses, bless their lives with abundance and ensure that they will never be put to shame again (v18-27). They only need to call on GOD.
GOD is holy so He must judge: His wrath will be dreadful for He is powerful. Yet in His great compassion, He provides a way out and abundantly rewards those who call on Him.
APPLY:
GOD promises an abundant life to those who heed His warnings. As we do so, we will be transformed and His name will be glorified.
GOD is compassionate and desires that I extend his compassion to those around me who are sad because they don’t have life-giving truths to make them glad.
DO:
- I will study and heed GOD’S Word by depending on the Holy Spirit’s illumination, and with the accountability of fellow spiritual companions.
- I will remember to thank GOD for His compassion, claiming His promises with gladness and being ready to share them with others.
PRAY:
Father GOD, give me grace to live humbly, love generously and steadfastly, so that I may point the lost to know and call on You, that more may be saved and You be glorified. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
