Am I Ready To Give An Account Of My Life?
BRD REFLECTIONS:
(Cassandra Leung, PTM, Children’s Ministry)
READ:
Daniel 7 (NIV)
OBSERVE:
We had seen how Daniel interpreted Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in the earlier chapters and now in chapter 7, it was Daniel’s turn to have the dreams and visions. Daniel had a vision of four great beasts, each representing a world empire. Nebuchadnezzar’s dream covered the political aspects of the empires whereas Daniel’s dream depicted their moral characteristics. He did not understand the dreams and like Nebuchadnezzar, he needed interpretation.
These dreams dramatically outlined God’s future plans, beginning with Babylon and continued to the end of the age. They gave a preview of God’s redemption. The worldly kingdoms will all be brought down with the arrival of God’s eternal kingdom.
God will judge all people, as each person stands before him. No one will be excluded and no one can hide from this.
What would he say when I give my account?
How would He measure it against His Will for me?
How will my life measure up?
APPLY:
Don’t we often get caught up in many things around us, like in a whirlpool? We get distracted from our main focus in life. My life changed about 10 years ago. The medical condition I was in led me to refocus, to live life more purposefully, more meaningfully and be more led by God.
I should live each day with full awareness that I will have to appear before God one day, to give an account for how I have lived my life. Living out a Godly and righteous life should be part and parcel of my daily living. Then I will not regret each passing day and will look forward to the next one to fill it up with goodness, to add on to the account that I will give on the day when I see God.
DO:
I want to live rightly for our sovereign King, by praying, reading His Word and serving others.
PRAY:
Dear gracious Heavenly Father, teach and help me to live right for You. May You guide me in ways that are only pleasing and acceptable to You. Draw me near to You each day so that I can stand tall as I walk right beside You.
I ask all these in Jesus’ name, Amen.
