God’s Sovereignty

BRD REFLECTION 2025

Isaiah 19-21 and Psalm 118:15-29 (NIV)

(Tay Bee Choo from Small Group Ministry)

READ:

Isaiah 19:1-16 (NIV)

OBSERVE:

Judgment will be made against Egypt for its pride and idolatry. Judgment will come in the form of its leaders’ inability to provide solutions to the nation’s problems, chaos, civil war, a weakened Nile River and a period of decline for Egypt. It is a stark reminder of the consequences when our trust is not placed in God alone.

APPLY:

Am I living like Egypt? Is there pride or idolatry in my life? Is there pride or idolatry around me that might influence me?

DO:

Even if tough times do come, they will serve God’s  purpose.

I shall put my faith and trust in God alone for security and deliverance regardless of how difficult things may get. I am also reminded to pay attention to God’s warnings in my life and to respond with faith and repentance.

Peace comes not from the absence of troubles but from the presence of God.

In His presence, I am confident that He will give me hope even in the thickest clouds.

PRAY:

Our Heavenly Father, I pray that I will abide in You and You in me. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can I unless I abide in You. You are the vine and I am merely a branch. Help me to abide in You so that I can bear much fruit; for apart from You, I can do nothing.  With you as  my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

I  pray that I will be  obedient  to hear Your voice even as You hear mine. May I listen to Your words to me in the Scriptures and may I accept  Your answers to  my prayers.

In Jesus’ most precious name I pray, Amen.
