He Will Prepare The Way
BRD REFLECTION 2026
Matthew 8:14–22 and Psalm 42:1–6 (NIV)
(Ho Han Ming, Worship, Music Ministry)
READ:
Psalm 42:1–6 (NIV)
OBSERVE:
Psalm 42:1-6 speaks to me about trusting God and having confidence in His deliverance from suffering and difficulty.
APPLY:
In my life’s journey, there are times when I feel overwhelmed and do not know what to do, and other times when I rely on my own wisdom and strength to address matters, which results in either great stress or mixed, bitter success.
Yet there have been times when, despite great stress, I have found peace and been able to pass through these difficult periods. Sometimes, things get better quickly; sometimes they do not. What matters is that I am able to feel His strength each day to carry me through. Sometimes, in the quietness of my daily devotion, I hear the whisper or feel the nudging of the Spirit; at other times, I receive renewed energy to face the challenges of the day.
DO:
I must take time to be still with God-–it makes all the difference. Whether it is through daily devotions or a quiet time to speak to Him, He has responded in different ways. This gives me the confidence to know that He is there. He hears me. He is preparing the way for me. I need only to be obedient and sensitive to His calling.
PRAY:
Heavenly Father, thank You that I can come into Your presence because of what Your Son has done. Forgive me when I am blinded by self-belief and human logic as I try to address difficult circumstances. Remind me always of Your past deliverance so that my confidence may come only from You. May this be so not only in difficulties but in all circumstances, so that I may be a witness to Your saving Grace.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
