God’s Righteousness And Truth
BRD REFLECTIONS:

READ:
Psalm 19 (NIV)
OBSERVE:
David wrote this psalm for the chief musician, for worshippers to use in worshipping God, the Creator of the universe.
The psalm tells of God’s glory being displayed through His created universe (v1-6), through His statutes, precepts and commands (v7-11), and our prayer in response (v12-14).
The magnificence of creation is enough for us to know the existence of God and His eternal power.
“The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” (Psalm 19:1)
God is seen in His creation, a natural revelation, showing His glory every single day and night, to every single person. As we look up to the sky, the sun, moon and stars, we witness His awesome creation! How marvellous indeed is our Almighty God!
As we look deeper into the scriptures, we are being guided in our daily walk with God, in righteousness and truth. God’s Word accomplishes His purpose in our lives.
APPLY:
As believers we desire to live lives that are pleasing to God, lives that will bring honour to His Name. But we often struggle to accomplish this.
Psalm 19 is a powerful and practical scripture passage that guides us to live our lives not in sin but in the righteousness of God. God’s Holy Word gives us spiritual truths in order to live in ways that please God, helps us overcome the pursuits and attacks of the evil one, and enables us to overcome temptation which we struggle with from time to time.
DO:
I must look up to see and appreciate the glory of God’s creation. I must look down to read the scriptures diligently. I must look within my heart to allow God’s truth and righteousness to cleanse, refresh and restore my soul constantly and transform my life into the likeness of Christ.
PRAY:
Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth, teach me Your way, that I may rely on Your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name. And may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Amen!
