God Our Deliverer And Saviour
BRD REFLECTIONS:
Acts 22:22-30; 23:1-11 and Psalm 34:1-22 (NIV)

READ:
These following verses from Psalm 34 (NIV) spoke to me:
(v4) I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
(v6) This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.’
OBSERVE:
David must have felt overwhelmed, fleeing for his life from no less than the King of Israel – Saul, who was jealous and intent on killing him. He must have felt all alone and needing to fend for himself. But he was not alone and in this Psalm, David bears testimony that in his darkest hour and most challenging circumstances, there is an assurance that God is present and will deliver him from his difficult circumstances. He never fails.
APPLY:
In our daily lives, we are faced with many challenges, juggling our commitments at the workplace, with family and commitments in church. It can be all too overwhelming especially when things do not go smoothly for us.
I remember the sleepless nights worrying how my presentation to management at the workplace would go. Would my bosses be satisfied or would I have to ‘redo’ the presentation yet again ? Have I done enough ? It is in those moments that God never fails in answering and delivering me when I call on Him.
These verses remind me not to be dependent on my own abilities or wisdom to overcome my fears at the workplace or family circumstances because God not only hears our cries for help but can be trusted to deliver us for His glory.
DO:
In my time of need or fear, I will first turn to the Lord because I know He can be trusted to answer and help me.
PRAY:
Dear Lord, thank You for the promise that in our times of need You will hear us and deliver us not just once but all of the time. Let me not put my trust in man’s ability but inYour providence and promise. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
