Walk With Integrity

BRD REFLECTIONS:

Judges 4:1-24; 5:1-31 and Psalm 26 (NIV)

(Tan Chin Meng;  SGM Zone 9, Assistant Zone Leader)

READ:

The verses that caught my attention were from

Psalm 26 (NKJV):

For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes,
And I have walked in Your truth.

11 But as for me, I will walk in my integrity;
Redeem me and be merciful to me.
12 My foot stands in an even place;
In the congregations I will bless the Lord.

OBSERVE:

The song of David, Psalm 26, begins with themes of integrity, trust, and a request for vindication. David bases his call for justice upon 2 things: “I have walked with my integrity” and “I have trusted in the Lord”.

It is a reminder to walk in God’s truth, trust Him and have an unwavering faith in the Lord. His lovingkindness is always with us and before our eyes. (v 1 to 3).

Psalm 26 also reminds us to stay close to God and separate ourselves from unrighteous and evil influences. (v 4 to 9).
The final part of Psalm 26 closes with a strong emphasis to walk with integrity and depend on God’s grace and mercy to redeem us. (v 11 to 12)

APPLY:

In the different circumstances that I face, I want to trust God, stay firm on level ground and walk in His truth with integrity. As a fallen being, it is difficult to do it by myself but I can let the Holy Spirit lead and guide me. It is important that I stay close to God and let Him examine my heart and intention so as to guide me in my action and behaviour.

It is not easy in a secular world, but with God’s help I can be a good testimony to pre-believers instead of being consumed by world-based values that are not consistent with Christ-likeness.

DO:

  1. I will read, learn and apply His Word regularly and obediently in my daily living. I will stay close and faithfully follow Him, humble myself and prayerfully seek guidance and wisdom against evil influences and positively reflect the goodness of God.
  2. I will continue my walk in integrity, trust in God’s faithfulness and turn to Him for deliverance in times of tribulation and unfair treatment.

PRAY:

Dear Heavenly Father, grant me an obedient and teachable heart to seek and follow You. May Your Holy Spirit journey with me, guide me and protect me from evil influences and to walk with godly integrity.

Through Your grace and mercy, may I continue to worship and keep my eye upon You. In the almighty name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
