God Is The Builder Of Everything
BRD REFLECTIONS:
Hebrews 3 and Psalm 139:1-12 (NIV)
(Lawrence Lim, SGM FST Chairperson)
READ:
Whilst I read both Hebrews 3 & Psalm 139:1-12, these verses caught my attention:
Hebrews 3:4-6, 13-14 and Psalm 139:3-4, 7-10.
OBSERVE:
Hebrews 3 tells us to fix our eyes onto Jesus. God is the builder of everything. Moses is a faithful servant in God’s house, and Christ is the faithful Son, We shall be His house, if we hold onto our faith firmly to the very end. The author also tells us to keep encouraging each other to guard against unbelief.
Psalm 139:1-12 testifies to God’s Omnipresence and Omniscience. It touches on how intimately God knows us.
APPLY:
When I am reflecting where I need God, the builder of everything, Alpha comes to mind. I am involved in the running of Alpha, and there are times when I feel stressed. Hebrews 3:4-6 reminds me I am not alone in serving God. I have God, the builder of everything, I have Jesus who watches over me, and I have “housemates” who are my fellow co-workers in the Alpha team.
I am also reminded in Psalm 139:3-4 , 7-10 how God knows me completely, my thoughts and my ways. And He is there for me and with me.
I thank God for giving me His assurance. I want to depend more on Him for His guidance and direction. I will pray more, for myself, for Alpha, for my co-workers that we seek God and His leading for Alpha.
God is faithful. He has enabled every Alpha to run smoothly. At times He will sent more helpers. I recalled an Alpha Weekend Away, when we experienced an issue with the sound system which we could not resolve. During a break in the talk, a participant stepped forward and solved the problem. Subsequently, he even joined us as a committee member.
I am reminded by Hebrews 3:13-14 of the importance of having close fellowship with my co-workers and to keep encouraging them.
DO:
I will seek God more for His guidance and leading. I will pray more for Alpha and for my co-workers. I thank God that I have a wonderful team that we can serve God together. I will continue to encourage good fellowship among my fellow co-workers.
PRAY:
Dear Father God, You are the builder of everything. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Without You, we labor in vain. Thank you Jesus for watching over us. Help me and my co-workers to draw close to You, and depend on Your Leading. Let us also have joy in serving You and one another. Holy Spirit, bless us with the spirit of gratitude and good fellowship among our co-workers. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
