Treasures From The House Of The Lord

BRD REFLECTIONS:

 Micah 4: 1-13 and Psalm 49:1-20 (NIV)

(Peter Chow from Worship and Music Ministry)

READ:

 Micah 4: 1-13

I focused especially on verse 2:

and many nations shall come, and say:

“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,

    to the house of the God of Jacob;

that he may teach us his ways

and we may walk in his paths.”

For out of Zion shall go forth the law,

and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

OBSERVE:

We go to the Lord  to receive His Word and law because Jesus said in John 14:6 “I AM the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but by me.”

The teacher in Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths.”

When I read, hear His Word, I must understand, receive, remember, abide in Him to apply His Word to bear good Fruit of the Spirit.

APPLY:

Faith without works is dead, says James 2:17.

My wife and Ihave learned and applied this verse through  serving in the prayer ministry  in Wesley for the past 40 years. We lead the Toa Payoh Small Group and I have also served as an usher all these years.

Jesus comes first in everything we do. We pray and seek His will always.

Praying, believing and trusting Jesus completely resulted in Jesus saving our daughter from drowning when she drove her car into the icy river in winter in the US. Praise God!

I serve the Lord with a grateful, joyful and selfless heart rain or shine without expectation of entitlement because my reward is Jesus Christ Himself.

DO:

Every Watchnight Service, my wife and I kneel at the altar to pray and rededicate ourselves to serve the Lord in the coming year.  We will continue to do that as our act of obedience to His teaching.

PRAY:

Dear God, I pray that the worshippers in Wesley will come forth with a strangely warmed heart to serve the Lord so that at the end of the day, Jesus will say, “ Welcome good and faithful servants. As you have done it to the least of these My people, you have done it to Me.” In Jesus’ name. Amen.
