His Steadfast Love Endures Forever
BRD REFLECTION 2025
Isaiah 55; Isaiah 56 and Psalm 136 (NIV)
(Irene Tan from Precept@Wesley)
READ:
Psalm 136 (NIV)
OBSERVE:
This phrase “His steadfast love endures forever,” repeatedly appears at the end of every line, from v 1 to v 24.. I learned from these five words the great extent of God’s love for His people. How did these words, “His steadfast love endures forever” come to be?
From the beginning of time God made great wonders—the heavens, the earth, the sun, the moon and the stars. He made these ready for His people before He created man. His enduring love was ready before He created the people who He would love. I have learned that God’s love is forever no matter what. Hence, I need to have patience in my relationships with others even when things don’t go my way.
APPLY:
In chats with my small group friends, we usually talk about God’s love. We thank Him, praise Him for all His blessings and pray for our loved ones – the saved and the unsaved.
God’s enduring love softens my hardness of heart. I am learning to have empathy for people who need help. If I am able to, I offer my help to someone before they ask me. Thanks be to God for leading the way for me to show love to others, for His steadfast love endures forever.
The verses in Psalm 136:11-24 also teach me about the steadfastness and endurance of God’s love. Despite His people’s wavering attitudes towards His love, God remembered them by giving them food and protecting them from their enemies.
DO:
I want to focus on the good in people and forgive the bad.
PRAY:
God, my Heavenly Father, I thank You for the lessons You have taught me through Your Word. Please help me be Your obedient child, ready to change to follow You and walk in Your way, ready to help those in need, and share my testimony with those who need to hear about You. Thank You, Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
