The Lord Most High Is Our Refuge And Shield

OBSERVE:
Psalm 7 reminds me that God is our refuge (v1) and shield (v10) in times of trouble and injustice. Verse 1 affirms God as my Saviour. He will “save and deliver me from all who pursue me”. How reassuring that God will bring an end to violence and wickedness. God is just and God will “save the upright in heart” (v10). In the last verse (v17), the psalmist gives thanks and praises “the Lord Most High” for His righteousness.
APPLY:
When I face a difficult situation, I often try to solve the problem in my own way. But as I am a Child of God, I should place my trust in God who is our perfect Abba Father. On several occasions in the past, God has held me in His hands and I know He will continue to do so. Sometimes all odds may be stacked against me, but I am reminded that as long as I do no wrong, God will intervene and save me from my troubles. God protects and secures a righteous heart through His higher ways.
DO:
In uncertain circumstances, I will not succumb to fear as God is my refuge. Instead, I will be secure in God’s hands. How do I build my trust and security in God? First, I will spend time with God daily, listening to His Word, praying and acting in obedience. Second, I will ask the Holy Spirit to equip me to act righteously in all situations. Third, I will confess my sins and repent of my wrongdoings. Fourth, as God showers me with His redemptive grace, I want to give thanks and praise the Lord Most High always.
PRAY:
Dear God, You are the Lord enthroned on high and our loving Father. I ask that You provide shelter and refuge to me when I face uncertain circumstances. Please reassure me with Your love and kindness and remove all my fear. Guide me closer to You Lord and protect me from any harm or injustice. I praise and give thanks to You Lord for your goodness and loving kindness ! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
