Staying Humble And Connected With God
BRD REFLECTION 2025

Psalm 131:2 and Isaiah 50:4 (NIV)
OBSERVE:
Psalm 131:2 is a tender image of a soul that has learned to rest quietly in God’s presence – like a weaned child content with its mother. It reminds me that maturity in faith means learning to let go of pride, control, and the constant need for affirmation. It is not about striving to prove myself but finding contentment in simply being with God.
Isaiah 50:4,on the other hand, speaks of a servant whose strength comes from listening to God. Each morning, the servant’s ear is awakened by the Lord to hear and obey. This reminds me that my spiritual vitality depends on staying close to God and listening to His voice daily.
Both passages reveal the true knowledge of God, showing that when we respond with faith, grow in understanding, and trust in the One in whom we believe, peace and purpose flow from a heart that remains humble.
APPLY:
As Christmas draws near and the year 2025 comes to a close, I look back with a heart full of gratitude.My family has been blessed, ministry has continued, and despite the challenges at work,God’s grace has sustained me.Yet there were moments of discouragement-times when things didn’t go as planned, when well-intentioned actions were misunderstood, when recognition felt distant, or when criticism made me question my own worth.
Through these Scriptures, God reminds me to quiet my restless heart and return to Him. I am to serve not for applause but for His glory. When I remain connected to the Vine, His strength becomes my confidence, His peace fills my heart, and His presence renews my spirit.
DO:
I will stay humble, listen for God’s voice each day, and serve faithfully in dependence on His grace.
PRAY:
Lord, thank You for Your grace throughout this year. Teach me to rest in You, to listen and obey, and to serve with a humble heart that seeks only Your glory. Amen.
