A Life Transformed By Jesus
BRD REFLECTION 2026
1 Corinthians 15:1-11 and Psalm 24 (NIV)
(Pamela Toh from Witness & Evangelism Ministry)
READ:
1 Corinthians 15:9-10 and Psalm 24:3-4 (NIV)
OBSERVE:
In 1 Corinthians 15:9-10, Paul acknowledges his past wrongdoings and God’s transformative power in his life, reflecting his humility and gratitude for God‘s grace.
Psalm 24 underscores the importance of having clean and pure intentions and actions in order to live out an authentic faith.
APPLY:
Today’s passage has led me to reflect on my own life transformation over the last seven years since I started to take my faith more seriously. Being a second-generation Christian, I used to take my faith for granted and turned to God only when I needed His help, essentially treating Him like a genie of sorts. Attending church was somewhat like a social activity for me, and I also had a consumer mindset, expecting to be entertained by the preacher. It took a peer’s death to make me rethink life and faith, and I started to want to learn more about the faith I seemingly knew since birth.
Gradually, as I drew closer to Him and hungered more for His Word, I was led to sign up for baptism in 2023 and also prayed to surrender my life for His purposes. Since then, many doors have opened for me to serve in ministry, and I have been so blessed by these opportunities. It is truly by His grace that I get the privilege to partner with Him in ministry, and I thank God for carrying me through the difficult seasons. As I surrender more to His will, God has also helped me to let go of certain idols in my life, with work being one of them. After tasting His goodness, I am now more convicted about spreading the gospel, especially within my direct sphere of influence. While I am still a work in progress, I am deeply grateful to God for how he has changed me in recent years, and I look forward to greater transformation as I continue to journey on with Him and live out an authentic faith.
DO:
- Trust in His plan for my life and surrender more to His will instead of seeking my own plans and desires.
- Be more intentional in caring for the last, the least, and the lost, and to be salt and light wherever He places me.
PRAY:
Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for Your deep love for me and for Your transformative power in my life. Forgive me for the times when I doubt Your plans for me and seek to drive my own future. Help me to be able to surrender more and more to Your will each day. Grant me the courage and resilience to continue walking by faith and not by sight.
In Jesus‘ most precious name I pray, Amen.
