From Slavery To Glory

BRD REFLECTION 2026

Genesis 37:1–18 and Psalm 103:1–12 (NIV)

(Rodney Goh, Worship Leader, Worship & Music Ministry)

READ:

Genesis 37:1–18 (NIV)

OBSERVE:

This passage speaks of God’s favour upon Joseph. He was young and innocent, and God spoke to him through dreams. He was also his father’s favourite son. This caused a family feud among his brothers. They couldn’t handle the truth, so most of the brothers ganged up against him and wanted to kill him.

APPLY:

As I look at the world today, I see much jealousy and anger within families and between nations, driven by covetousness that is corrupting it. The same jealousy that Joseph’s brothers had can take root in my heart whenever I compare myself with others. I must cling daily to the Word of God and not let the sins of the world take control of my life or separate me from the love of God.

DO:

I must always fill my lips with songs of praise and worship God in Spirit and in truth.

PRAY:

Dear God , help me to have a childlike faith to always draw near to You. Let Your Kingdom dwell in my spirit man, free from jealousy and covetousness, so that I can dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.
