Transformed To Reflect His Glory
BRD REFLECTION 2026
2 Corinthians 3 and Psalm 32:1-5 (NIV)
(Rebecca Yong from Pastoral Team)
READ:
As I read through these passages, 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 stood out to me.
OBSERVE:
These verses point us to the understanding that the Holy Spirit brings liberation from the condemnation of the Old Covenant law, sin, and fear, and spiritual blindness, allowing believers to have direct access to God through Jesus Christ, to behold His glory. This freedom is not a license to sin, but rather the liberty to live according to God’s will.
Believers, having direct access to God, can now with unveiled faces see God’s glory as He is revealed in Jesus. As they behold Him and see Him for who He is, they are actively being transformed into His image, reflecting His glory. Paul has described that the veil between God and the people is removed only when they come to Him through faith in Christ and not through human efforts of discipline or religiously following the law.
Seeing the glory of God in Christ initiates what some scholars call “progressive sanctification,” where the Spirit transforms us to become more and more like Him. All these are truly the work of the Spirit, giving us freedom to behold His glory with unveiled faces, experiencing spiritual revelation, that leads to spiritual transformation as we put our faith in Christ.
APPLY:
There’s so much to give thanks for as I ponder on the freedom I have in Christ, having direct access to God, beholding His glory, enjoying His presence. I am reminded again that as I continue to worship Him daily, the Holy Spirit continues to transform me to become more like Him. The Holy Spirit is indeed an active, present reality of Christ in me. It is also a humbling awareness that I am a work in progress, constantly being transformed by the Holy Spirit into His image, from glory to glory.
DO:
I want to cherish this freedom and direct access I have to God, to worship Him daily and not take this for granted.
I want to continue to submit myself under the Lordship of Christ, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform me into His likeness, reflecting His glory.
PRAY:
Dear God, thank You for the freedom we have in You, given direct access to Your throne of grace. May we cherish dwelling in Your presence in worship daily, beholding Your glory. I pray that Your name be magnified as I continue to surrender my life to You, allowing Your Spirit to transform me to become more and more like You, reflecting Your glory and pointing others to Jesus.
Amen.
