Jesus Is Truly All I Need

BRD REFLECTION 2026

1 Corinthians 14:26-40 and Psalm 23 (NIV)

(Sylvia Yeo from Children’s Ministry)

READ:

Psalm 23 (NIV)

OBSERVE:

The Lord Jesus Christ is my Shepherd. He reminds me to rest in Him, and as I reflect on who He is and what He means to me, He gently guides my thoughts. He leads me because I belong to Him as His child. In times of trouble when I feel helpless and overwhelmed, my heavenly Father is always near. Like a shepherd who uses a rod and staff to protect sheep from wolves, He is present to comfort me. His presence is my assurance that I am never alone. God has my back covered completely. After all, He provides for me even in the presence of my enemies (v5), showing that His provision and protection are not dependent on my circumstances but on His faithfulness.

APPLY:

Reading this familiar psalm again excites me and reminds me that Jesus is truly all I need. For my soul to be restored and for me to hear His voice clearly, I must intentionally spend time with Him. The passage does not promise that life will always be smooth or free from trials. Verse 4 reminds me that even when I walk through the darkest valleys, I do not need to be afraid because He is with me to comfort and strengthen me. It does not promise a bed of roses, nor does it say life will be easy. God moves in ways that I cannot always understand, but His purposes are always good. Man’s chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever, and this psalm points me back to that truth. Because God desires for me to dwell with Him forever, I am called to fix my eyes on Him daily. When I do, I experience His goodness and lovingkindness. Because He loves me deeply, I will remain in Him. Truly, He is all I need.

DO:

To keep close to God and hear His heartbeat, I must commune with Him regularly, pray without ceasing, and dwell in His presence through His Word.

PRAY:

Abba Father, I rededicate my life to You today, asking that You cleanse me and make me whole. Thank You for reminding me that I am not alone. You have given me the greatest assurance that I do not need to fear any evil, for You are with me. Thank You for Your goodness and mercies. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
